Every contribution makes a real, immediate difference to animals in distress. The funds raised allow us to respond when an animal has nowhere else to turn — whether it’s a seal stranded on the beach, an injured seabird, penguin, turtle, seal or whale needing urgent care. Your support helps us buy the equipment needed to safely stabilise animals, secure carriers to transport them off the beach, and vital medical supplies used in those first critical moments.
The Robberg Express is a 9,12 or 21km trail adventure around one of South Africa’s most iconic landmarks — the Robberg Peninsula in Plettenberg Bay. This spectacular route takes runners through the heart of a coastal nature reserve where rugged cliffs, sandy stretches, and ocean views collide in a trail experience like no other.
Starting from Whale Rock Ridge, runners wind through the fynbos-lined trails of “Snake Alley” before joining the famous Robberg hiking loop — a mix of rocky singletrack, rolling dunes, and dramatic sea-edge paths overlooking the turquoise Indian Ocean. It’s a route that challenges the legs and rewards the spirit, offering a perfect blend of technical trail, wild beauty, and untamed coastline.
Expect to share the trail with seabirds and seals, feel the sea spray on your face, and soak up sweeping views that stretch all the way to the Tsitsikamma mountains. Whether you’re chasing a fast time or simply running for the pure joy of being out there, the Robberg Express is a race that captures the essence of trail running on the Garden Route — raw, scenic, and unforgettable.
